Team NH is an exciting initiative that seeks to build authentinc peer relationships between clients from Moore Center Services and students from Southern New Hampshire University, against the backdrop of professional and collegiate sports. Moore Center Services, located in Manchester, NH, is a non-profit agency that serves individuals with developmental disabilities. The idea to bring Moore Center and Southern New Hampshire University together came about when Paul Boynton, President and CEO of Moore Center and Paul LeBlanc, President of SNHU, brainstormed a way to aling the two institutions more closely. With the New Hampshire Business Resource Center as the catalyst, the three organizations developed Team NH and the results so far have been energizing. Team NH has attended games with the Manchester Monarchs, Manchester Wolves, New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Nashua Pride, Manchester Freedom and even attended a Jet Car drag race at New England Dragway. Teams offers free tickets for the clients and students and often supply courtesy refreshments and the opportunity to meet and greet the players after the game. In addition, Team NH regularly visits the Southern New Hampshire University campus to take in baseball, volleyball, soccer and basketball games. Amidst the cheering and clapping and sports adrenaline, quality friendships have been formed between the clinets and students, and truly, this is the main intent of the initiative. "I love Team NH," says Mike Ladieu, Moore Center clienht and frequent attender of the Team NH events. "The games are fun and the people are great.
